Artist statement:

I titled this piece Rosa Gallica after one of the oldest known rose species in history. For the 'Return to Beauty' theme, I wanted to paint a transformation that felt ancient and inevitable. An active, upward metamorphosis. In this piece, the figure exists in a state of exquisite surrender. As she tilts her head toward the heavens, her internal world erupts into a cascading bloom of roses—a visual representation of the moment the spirit outgrows the physical form. To return to beauty is to reconnect to a sense of the expansive forces and wild rhythms of the natural world.
